Frequently Asked Questions – Mid-May 2013 Edition!

We are so thankful to be open in downtown Matthews! The support and reception has been AMAZING!!!!

Here are the most frequently asked questions we’ve received in just the few short days we’ve been open:

Q: What are your hours?

We are currently open 5 days a week: 11AM – 8PM Tuesday through Thursday and 11AM – 9 PM Friday and Saturday. We are closed Sunday and Monday.

Q: Do you serve food?

We do not offer any food at Carolina Beer Temple. However, customers are welcome to bring in food from area restaurants such as Royal Creperie, Thai Taste, Beantown Tavern, Kristophers and more.

Q: Can I bring my beer next door to the Black Chicken Wine Cellar?

It is unlawful for us to serve an open beer and for a customer to leave our patio space – even if it is just a 10 foot walk to the Black Chicken. We are permitted to sell you an unopened beer from our cooler – this you may take with you wherever you like and open at your leisure. However, it is illegal in North Carolina to consume beer from a labeled container on public streets or sidewalks. You must pour your beer into a plastic cup or glass in order to consume it in public.

Q: Can I bring wine from next door into Carolina Beer Temple

North Carolina law prohibits this as well.

Q: Do you sell any Gluten Free beers?

Not yet – check back in about 1 or 2 weeks (so if you are reading this blog post in June of 2013 or beyond the new answer is “yes” we are).

Q: Do you sell kegs?

Not yet – check back in about 2-3 weeks (so if you are reading this blog post in mid June 2013 or beyond the answer is “yes” we are). Once we are selling kegs, kegs will need to be pre-ordered. We will not carry kegs in the store for purchase.

Oh…the tales we can tell. Let’s just say we wish we could’ve opened sooner, but we are so thankful that we are finally open serving fine, fresh quality beers!

Q: Will your taps rotate or will you have a core set of beers on draft?

We will rotate our taps very frequently – so you will likely not see the same tap list twice at Carolina Beer Temple. In fact we’ve only just completed 3 days in business and the tap list has already changed! However, there are a few things you can expect from our tap list:

  • At least half of our beers (8 taps) will be from North Carolina breweries
  • At least two of our taps will be Belgian ales
  • And for the foreseeable future we will always carry something from the local Charlotte breweries: OMB, Four Friends, Noda, Birdsong and Triple C

Q: Do you carry any sour beers?

We have a small selection of sours in stock right now, with more on the way (some have been surprisingly difficult to get in stock so far). We will certainly have a sours on tap from time to time as well.

Thanks for all of the support! Please visit us soon!
