On Thursday July 18th Carolina Beer Temple will be teaming up with Carolina Brewery out of Chapel Hill for a Tap Takeover!
Carolina Brewery is located on the historic Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Franklin Street serves as the social center for the University of North Carolina and the aptly named Carolina Brewery is a fantastic part of the street scene. (Carolina Brewery also has a location in Pittsboro)
In July 2013 Megan and I visited Carolina Brewery in Chapel Hill. We loved the great oak trees that stand out front and the wonderful patio space. Inside we sat in the bar area, with a view of the fermentation tanks behind glass walls.
Together we shared a flight of 6 Carolina Brewery beers:
- Sky Blue Golden Ale
- Copper Line Amber Ale
- Flagship IPA
- Oatmeal Porter
- Firecracker Pale Ale
- Bullpen Pale Ale
Our favorite was the Flagship IPA – an excellent example of a traditional English style IPA. Our biggest surprise was the Fire Cracker Pale Ale – it looked like a pale lager, but surprised us with the crisp, bitter and refreshing taste!
Here in Charlotte the Sky Blue Golden Ale and Flagship IPA are available year-round in cans, while seasonals can be found from time to time on draft. Expect to find all of these at Carolina Beer Temple when available.
For the event on Thursday we plan to have Sky Blue, Flagship, the Oatmeal Porter and Myth Perpetuator (a Double IPA) available on draft!
A member of the Carolina Brewery staff will be on site to talk about the beers as we offer flights, discounted pints and discounted six packs!
Come join us Thursday July 18th for our Carolina Brewery tap takeover!
