Here is a run down of just a few of the things that will be taking place in and around Carolina Beer Temple on First Thursday in July (7/7/16).
CHRISTMAS IN JULY TAP TAKEOVER
We’ve been aging some fantastic winter ales for six months or more so we could feature them during our annual Christmas in July Tap Takeover event at Carolina Beer Temple! All of these beers get better with age. Your tap list will include:
- St. Bernardus Christmas Ale | 10% ABV | 99 rating on Ratebeer |
- Kasteel Winter | 11% ABV | 94 rating on RateBeer |
- Prairie Christmas Bomb! Imperial Stout | 11.5% ABV | 98 rating on RateBeer
- Mother Earth Silent Night | 9.5% ABV | 98 rating on RateBeer
We are also digging into the Carolina Beer Temple cellar and breaking out some Kasteel Winter bottles that we’ve been aging since 2013! These will be available for sale the night of the event!
ARTS & CRAFTS POPUP MARKET
The Arts & Crafts pop-up market will start up around 5PM and will be located on grassy lawn across from Carolina Beer Temple next to the Nails 3 Salon. In addition, Designs by Shirlee Jewelry will be setting up a tent close to Carolina Beer Temple and will be offering Christmas specials! Designs by Shirlee is a jewelry shop locted in Griffin Square in downtown Matthews across from Stumptown Park. They specialize in one-of-a-kind custom made jewelry!
SANTA IN THE SUMMER
Keep an eye out for Santa who has been enjoying his summer vacation! Santa will be out and about enjoying the First Thursday festivities!
Look for an obstacle course and other activities for children in the grassy lawn across from Carolina Beer Temple!
You have to download the “Made in Matthews” app to participate (available for both iPhone and Android). Simply download the app and check-in to the First Thursday in July event to register to win great prizes!
Carolina Beer Temple will be hosting a fundraiser for the Greater Matthews Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscious action. $1 of every pint or flight sold will be donated to Habitat!
The Greater Matthews Habitat for Humanity will also have a truck parked near the grassy lawn across from Carolina Beer Temple and will be accepting donations. They will also have a Christmas booth set up in our Arts & Crafts pop-up market area.
We hope to see you on First Thursday in July!
