Charlotte Brew Tales | A Mini-Beer Festival

As part of Charlotte’s Craft Beer Week celebrations, Carolina Beer Temple is honored to host “Charlotte Brew Tales” on Thursday, October 22nd from 6-8PM.

While general admission is free and you can try any beer you like in the taproom, you are going to want a VIP ticket - this is going to be like a mini craft beer festival!

Up to sixteen local breweries will each showcase one featured beer, sharing the story that brought it to life. From locally sourced ingredients and seasonal inspiration to community collaborations and personal brewing journeys, you'll discover what makes each beer more than just what's in the glass.

Each beer will compete for the following prizes:

  • Best Brew for the Season

  • Best Use of Local Ingredients

  • Best Craft Brew Story

Plus, the VIPs get to vote for the “People’s Choice” award – overall favorite amongst the VIPs.

Our judging panel will include:

  • Stasia Brewczynski – Certified Cicerone®, Beer Judge & Freelance Writer

  • Adam Callaghan – Freelance Beer Writer

  • Amy Nelson – St. Paul Pioneer Press

  • Tom Bobak – Editor, American Craft Beer

  • John Holl – Editor, All About Beer

As a VIP you will get to sample all of the craft beers in the competition, you will meet the brewers and brewery representatives, hang with the judging panel, get a free commemorative glass and enjoy light appetizers – all for only $40!

This is going to be a fun event of exploring and learning about some exciting craft brews.

The competing beers are as follows:

- Pilot Brewing: Cafe Latte Stout - Sweet Stout, 5.2%

- Lower Left Brewing: Fresh Start, Fresh Hop IPA, 5.5%, NEIPA, 7.77%

- Triple C Brewing: Pils of Funk, Mixed Culture Ale, 5.2%

- Town Brewing - Pils of Funk, Mixed Culture Ale, 5.2%

- Fonta Flora Brewing: Brutus - Bière de Coupage - 5.2%

- Replay Brewing: Manuka Bazooka | Hazy DIPA | 8%

- 760 Craft Works: Coffee River: PSL Variant, Blonde Ale with spices, 5.5% ABV

- Vaulted Oak Brewing: Saison

- Hi-Wire Brewing: Cooler Nights, West-Coast IPA, 6.5%

- Wooden Robot Brewing: Cosmic Ballet, French Oak Pilsner, 4.2%

- Middle James Brewing: Talk to me Joose, Hazy IPA, 6.5%

- Burial Brewing: One of Us Will Have To Bury The Other, Mexican Lager, 4.6%

- Resident Culture Brewing: prés Ski Club, Czech-style Dark Lager, 4.5% ABV

- Olde Meckleburg Brewing: Hornets Nest, Hefeweizen, 5.3%

- Petty Thieves Brewing: Retired Cowboy, Kellerbier 5.2%
