This year we will be celebrating ABT 12 day on Monday, December 15th. The celebration of one of the world's most renowned beers, St. Bernardus Abt 12, typically occurs on December 12th. However, for our event we will be visited by Marco of the St. Bernardus crew all the way from Belgium!

If you are not familiar with Abt 12, it is time to get acquainted. Abt 12 is a 10% ABV Belgian quadruple style beer, which adheres to its original 1946 recipe. Quadruples tend to be dark brown ales, with a robust head. The flavor profile includes dark fruit notes, hints of chocolate and caramel and some subtle layers of spice. The alcohol warmth is well integrated and not overpowering and gets even more subtle as this beer is aged.
As we celebrate Abt 12 Day this year, we will be tapping the following:
· St. Bernardus Abt 12
· St. Bernardus Abt 12 Nitro
· St. Bernardus Christmas Ale
· and more …
St. Bernardus Christmas Ale
Plus, as the only “official” St. Bernardus taproom in the Carolinas, Carolina Beer Temple has had the great fortune of teaming up with St. Bernardus who brews a couple of our Private Label brews. The St. Ames Blonde is a traditional Belgian Blonde Ale that is a Carolina Beer Temple exclusive. Also on tap will be our other Private Label ale, St. Ames Brune, a Belgian Dubbel - think of this brew as Abt 12’s little brother. Similar flavor profile, but less ABV at 6.7%.

And as if all that wasn’t enough, we’ll also be offering FREE vintage pours of Abt 12, straight from one of their breathtaking 6-liter Methusalem bottles!!!

If you are looking to get acquainted with Belgian ales and one of the best breweries in the world, be sure to stop in on Monday, December 15th, 2025.
Cheers,
